A mate and I have had a couple of
visits to
Minnamurra over the last few weeks and I've also been out there a
couple of times myself to test flies.
I've found that as the water colour changes coming down from high tide
that the fish are most active.
I've been fishing my estuary fly which is like a jelly baby with a
rubber tail and it does the job pretty well particularly in water of
around 1 meter deep and has accounted for both bream and
flathead at this stage.
The area I have fished when wading has been the area from the
roadbridge right around
to the settlement of Minnamurra and from the boat we have found that
the curve of the river just down from the railway bridge and then up
around the red
buoy opposite the golf course are the most productive.
