Perisher Valley

The spooky little trout in the creeks at Perisher have provided some good fun over the last couple of days. It's hard work keeping out of sight, but that's the secret to tricking these willing little blighters.

So far I've managed to land 16 browns between 15 and 31cm. This includes TWO on ONE CAST!!! I was fishing a small Royal Wulff with a tiny black nymph 15cm underneath. What a buzz for a new chap to the sport!! Other patterns they were happy to take were Olive Klinkhammers size 14-16 and small M.R.E.'s.

I've had one session at Sponnars and managed a 35cm Rainbow on a Green "booby" size 8.

I'm hoping to catch up with Stephen Chatterton next week and get some red hot tips on fishing the big water on lake Jindabyne.

Regards to all,

Ed Melinz.
